- Al Walsil, desert town on edge of Wahiba Sands. (160-200km, 2.5 hr drive from Sama Ras Al Jinz Eco Lodge). Leave vehicle and travel with guide to desert camp. Meet at Al Maha petrol station at 2pm. Cost OMR 32. OR, if you have 4×4 drive to lodge yourself.

- steep, winding drive up to Jebel Shams. Road is paved until top and then graded gravel road for 10km until turn off for Sama Heights Resort (43km, 1.5 hr drive from Misfat Al Abriyyin)
- Balcony walk along “Grand Canyon” (15 min drive from Sama Heights Resort) 3 hr hike (go to As Sab)
Jebel Shams to Seeb – 1 night
